About Marie-Claude Cantin

Dr. Cantin is a biologist with a Ph.D. in environmental physiology from Stirling University, Scotland and a College teaching certification from Sherbrooke University.  Living in the Eastern Townships, Quebec, she worked as a College teacher for 15 years, then started her own company in environmental microbiology.  An adept of yoga since adolescence, she came to the practice of Ayurveda while taking a class in Ayurvedic yoga therapy and subsequently became a Certified Ayurvedic Specialist (California College of Ayurveda, 4 year program).  Practical training included:  medicinal plants, nutrition, advanced pulse reading, abhyanga, shirodhara, pinda veda and marma therapy. Continuing education (aromatherapy, dermatology) is an integral part of Dr Cantin’s practice.  She expands her knowledge by attending international symposiums and workshops from NAMA to the Institute of Ayurveda (New Mexico) and various Sivananda Ashrams.

Dr Cantin practices in Hatley Township and Montreal.  From biology (science of living organisms) to Ayurveda healthcare (science of life and holistic health), becoming a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist has been a natural and complementary journey. She has extensive clinical experience guiding people to better health through consultations, ayurvedic treatments and yoga practice.

Dr Cantin is the author of numerous scientific papers and reports; she has also given many international technical presentations on environmental biology, and wrote a literature review on “Ayurvedic Approaches in the Treatment of Dementia and Alzheimer”.

She is a Naturopath in Clinical Ayurveda member of ANP (Association des Naturopathes du Quebec) and a professional member of NAMA (National Ayurvedic Medical Association, USA).
