Ayurvedic cooking

The Ayurvedic approach and its cuisine have been well expressed by the father of modern medicine, Hippocrates “Let your food be your medicine, and your medicine your food”.

What is Ayurvedic cooking?

Cooking to preserve our health is the traditional approach of Ayurveda. Food is chosen to nourish body and soul. This choice considers the 5 physical elements (ether, air, water, fire, earth) and how their qualities interrelate with the elements and qualities in our unique physiology.

The use of spices ensures optimal functioning of the digestive fire (agni).

The emphasis is on fresh, local, organic, lovingly prepared meals where flavors, textures and colors complement each other harmoniously. The ultimate goal is to satisfy our senses with a colorful plate, a pleasant smell, and to please our spirit with a comfortable and friendly environment.

How does Ayurvedic cooking work?

The preparation of simple and varied dishes that take into account the season, the doshic age, the balance of 6 flavors while targeting a dominance of 3 flavors that promote the balance of your prakruti (constitution).

The workshops will give you the basics on food choices, tastes and spices to prepare tasty and healthy vegetarian meals that are easy to include in your weekly schedule, plus enjoying a few recipes.  Simple and well balanced recipes with delicious flavors are provided to participants.
